Flying trapeze

Whether or not you fear heights, let’s just say you will have no regrets doing this. Situated next to the pool, the 10m-high trapeze is an attraction all on its own. All day long, guests – including kids from as young as four – line up patiently for their turn to “fly” with guidance from professional acrobatic arts instructors, who perform on the trapeze at night. There’s a safety net, plus all participants have to wear a safety harness, so no worries about falling. Treasure the air-time, whether you’re attempting stunts such as hooking your knees over the bar or simply hanging from your arms. That feeling of swinging like a monkey – not to mention the bragging rights – is pretty darn awesome.

Join the morning and evening yoga sessions held at the beach-facing palapa, which will make you feel like you’re at a retreat. Soak in the calming sound of waves as well as the cooling sea breeze while doing poses that build your strength, balance and flexibility. Mats are provided –just turn up in studio attire. Every other day, the resort’s Gracious Organisers (known in Club Med as G.Os) lead guests on trail runs around the resort, taking you past scenic spots like the gorgeous Ria Bintan Golf Club. Bring your phone along to capture the #Instaworthy views! The distance and difficulty level are customisable. Beginners might want to start off with the easy 5km route, while seasoned runners can opt for trails ranging from 8km to 10km. Even if you’d rather walk, the G.Os are happy to accompany you all the way!

Kayaking in the clear blue sea will calm your senses.

Your room gives you a serene view of the South China Sea, being on it while on the kayak is an entirely different experience. The gentle, clear blue waves will make you forget all worries, and return to the shore with a quieter mind. Your arms, back, shoulders and core will be sculpted by the end of your trip. Kayaks are available from 9am to 12pm and 2pm to 5pm daily.

Every night, the Club Med Gracious Organisers put up an entertaining theatre performance.
